I love doing crafty things, but don’t really give much time to it. I love photography and don’t really give much time to it. I kind of like Fine Art and drawing and I certainly don’t spend any time at either.
I insisted that they use pencils (and even so, red felt-tip crept in) and had to encourage lots when there was much angst over a lack of perfect lines. And provide some starting points when they both said, ‘I can’t draw that’. Mostly that consisted of showing them how to put in little points and connect the dots. And using the best rubber that we’ve got.
They are pleased with their work.
Next time we’ll just post it to Harmony Art Mom’s site for the slideshow. A virtual gallery.
I’ve also been looking at how to teach about Fine Art. Full of ideas (study an artist a month, show lots of pics from the arist in a visible spot, discuss it regularly, create a notebook), but nothing concrete yet. That’s still to come…
